How To Give A Best Man Speech Like A Pro

Ok you can’t because there is no such thing as a professional Best Man (there are professional Best Man speechwriters however) but the headline drew your attention, correct? Beginning your Best Man speech with a bang is the first step you need to address when writing your own Best Man Toast.

Attention-grabbing openers are important but bear in mind this doesn’t mean they necessarily need to be funny either, you are better saving the comedy for later in the speech. Open with a friendly, witty hook. A friendly hook can mean opening with a remark about that date in history, or a quip at your own expense, humility always goes down well with the wedding guests.

  • Introduce yourself, lets be honest no matter how popular you are, chances are not everyone is going to know you.
  • Make mention of your relationship to the Groom.
  • Thank the parents of the Bride and Groom.
  • Praise the Bride, complimenting not only her looks but also the impact she has had on the Groom.
  • Tell a short story about the Groom, nothing too embarrassing mind you, after all, his new In-Laws are in attendance.
  • Follow this by praising the Groom, talk about his strengths and what his friendship means to you.
  • Closing lines are extremely important, you want a rousing ovation before you offer the toast to the Bride & Groom so ensure that your final lines will leave an impact on those listening.
  • Provide the final toast to the Newlyweds

Funny Best Man speech jokes are an essential element to the success of your speech, short jokes work best. For those of you under time-constraints or just want to get your hands on some great speeches then my own Best Man speeches are perfect for you, be confident, be happy, be sensational.
