Short best man speeches should be the highlight of wedding toasts and as such need to be full of great content for the wedding guests to enjoy. In previous posts we looked at short best man speeches for a brother and icebreakers for short best man speeches today we continue that theme by looking at ideas that can be used to great effect in a short best man speech.
1) Horoscope jokes.
Check the horoscopes of the groom before comparing his personality in relation to the description provided with the horoscope. Making up the horoscope to profile the exact opposite of the groom’s personality will have the wedding guests smiling broadly. For even more laughter bring a newspaper as a funny prop for best man speeches and pretend you are reading the horoscope from that.
2) Explain why the groom is set apart from everyone else.
Everyone has got a characteristic unique to themselves so share with the guests a trademark trait that the groom has, then build a short story around it.
3) Show your romantic side.
The best man speech should not be purely about the groom, so be sure to say complimentary words about the bride and to get loud applause from the audience present her with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of yourself and the groomsmen. This is not part of the best man’s duties but will be well-received by the guests and the bride herself of course.
4) Be funny not insulting.
Best man speeches should be loaded with humor though make sure your speech doesn’t come across as being insulting. Stick to funny best man jokes and witty one liners for laughter. Remember not to worry about whether the groom will feel insulted, instead consider if the bride could be insulted or if the groom’s parents might get offended, either scenario you don’t want happening.
5) Talk about how much the bride and groom love each other.
As you come towards the end of your speech share a quick story that highlights how much the bride and groom love each other and why they are a perfect match. This will be a nice build-up to the toast at the end of your speech.
The best short best man speeches are not only hilarious but also written in such a way that the best man charms everyone in attendance leading to a sensational ovation at the end of the best man toast.

The made of honor is usually either the bride’s best friend or a close family member so if you offend the maid of honor you can be certain that you will be offending the bride also and that would not be a wise thing for the best man to do.
With that in mind, today’s humorous post looks at things that the best man should not say to the maid of honor or else he may find it hard to stand up straight to deliver his best man toast.
01. The groomsman has a crush on you, but then again he has had lots to drink today.
02. Why do the dresses look well on the other bridesmaids, was it hard to get the right fit for you?
03. Ever slept with the best man before?
04. I thought you were going on a diet for the wedding?
05. As a girl who looks like she knows how to have a good time, tell me about the bachelorette party.
06. Don’t try anything funny when we are dancing later on, my mother warned me about girls like you.
07. Let’s be honest, chances are you’ll never get married so make sure you enjoy the wedding today.
08. Want to enjoy an experiment with myself and the groomsmen ?
09. With the bride being so beautiful, it must have been tough watching her get all the attention when you were growing up.
10. Just to make it clear, once the best man / maid of honor dance is over then my duties with you are complete.
As best man you will have enough on your mind at the wedding and will not need any extra aggravation so make sure that you steer clear from these lines. Using any form of cruel humor will come back to haunt you, so stick to funny best man jokes for your speech and enjoy the plaudits afterwards.

One of the most important decisions you will make, along with the Groom’s input, is where you should have the all-important Bachelor Party. There are certain factors that need to be taken into account when deciding what type of Bachelor Party to have, the 2 most important factors are making sure you know who will be invited and also what budget you have to work from.
The reason the budget is important is self-explanatory whilst knowing who is coming is vital because if the Father of the Bride plans on coming then that rules out a certain type of Bachelor Party, you know what I mean guys!
- Bachelor Party City Trip.
This type of Bachelor Party entails travelling to a city/resort for a fun-filled night or weekend to celebrate the Groom’s last major night out as a single man. Las Vegas, Atlantic City and New York City are amongst the most popular destinations for this type of Bachelor Party.
If the Groom is the sporty or competitive type then a good option to consider is a Bachelor Party based around an activity such as white-water rafting, fishing, golfing or similar. It is worth remembering that you should go easy on the alcohol if taking part in an event like white-water rafting of course.
If the Groom is a fan of a particular sports team then another good idea is to take a trip to watch that team in action followed by a night partying in that town. If it is a local team then maybe try to make the effort to watch them play when they are away from home just to see enjoy nightlife out of town.
The concert may play second fiddle to the tailgating beforehand but a trip to see one of the Groom’s favorite bands followed by a party afterwards is sure to leave memories to last a lifetime. For added fun rent some whacky costumes from a fancy dress shop and revel in the attention you will receive on the night.
- Limo evening around town.
For the more nostalgic among you who want to visit bars you are familiar with in your area then have the luxury of a stretch-limo to take your party from location to location and include a fancy restaurant for a bite to eat along the way. Enjoy a bit of luxury on the Bachelor Party and travel in style to celebrate the Groom’s final major night out before he becomes a married man.
Despite the temptation to try to get the Groom in trouble on his Bachelor Party avoid it, if anything goes wrong it is your neck on the chopping block when you get home not his so be responsible, have a great time just make sure to stay safe.
